GSPANN is hiring a Systems Engineer to manage Windows Server and Azure environments, leading shift operations and resolving critical infrastructure incidents.
Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Optimize server health, performance, and capacity through proactive monitoring, applying server hardening and security best practices.
- Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and related identity services, including user accounts, security groups, service accounts, and access controls.
- Support AD integrations with cloud and enterprise applications, troubleshooting authentication, authorization, and directory-related issues.
- Manage Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage, Backup, and Recovery services.
- Support Azure AD, Azure Security, monitoring, and governance initiatives across hybrid cloud environments that integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure.
- Drive cloud migration, optimization, and modernization projects.
- Lead as Shift Lead and primary escalation point for critical Windows and Azure incidents, coordinating resolution across technology teams during major incidents.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), operational procedures, and escalation protocols.
- Support and maintain the MOVEit Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform, troubleshooting file transfer failures, connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with application owners and business stakeholders on secure data exchange requirements.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards, owning ticket resolution end to end alongside root cause analysis.
- Build and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
- Support shift operations, on-call rotations, and production support activities.
- Develop automation for repetitive administration tasks using PowerShell or Azure automation tools.
- Collaborate with global infrastructure, network, security, and application teams, working closely with the L3 team to operationalize new designs and automation solutions.
Skills and Experience
- Bring 5+ years of in-depth experience in Windows systems administration, including Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Hold a Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification; a Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Windows Server Administration, or ITIL Foundation certification is an advantage.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in Azure Infrastructure Services, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Windows security and hardening, and PowerShell scripting.
- Apply experience with server monitoring and performance management, backup and disaster recovery solutions, and the MOVEit Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform.
- Work with Azure networking, storage, and virtual machine administration, along with cloud migration and infrastructure modernization projects.
- Manage Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management processes, applying ITIL processes within enterprise support environments.
- Utilize the ability to lead shifts and manage critical production incidents in Global Capability Center (GCC), Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), or Managed Services environments.
- Develop knowledge of cybersecurity controls and compliance standards, along with exposure to automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and show readiness for accelerated progression into Level 3 (L3) roles.
