Description

GSPANN is hiring a Systems Engineer to manage enterprise IT tools such as ServiceNow and Control-M, focusing on automation, integrations, and platform monitoring for smooth operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise tool environments relevant to the assigned track.
  • Develop and manage integrations between enterprise platforms and business applications, using Representational State Transfer (REST) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) APIs, web services, and middleware frameworks.
  • Build and maintain scripting and automation to reduce repetitive operational work and standardize routine tasks.
  • Lead end-to-end operational ownership across the assigned platforms, prioritizing proactive monitoring and continuous improvement over reactive ticket resolution.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and recurring issue reduction to prevent repeat incidents.
  • Manage incidents and escalations as the primary technical resource within the assigned platform area.
  • Optimize scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation workflows using modern Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted tools.
  • Ensure technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge repositories stay current and accurate.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and vendor teams to resolve issues.
  • Implement ServiceNow module configurations and workflow updates.
  • Develop automation for Incident, Change, Problem, and Request Management processes in ServiceNow.
  • Design and customize ServiceNow forms, workflows, business rules, and service catalogs.
  • Support ServiceNow platform enhancements and upgrades.
  • Manage BMC Control-M scheduling infrastructure, including batch jobs, workflows, dependencies, and calendars.
  • Implement scheduling standards and automation policies across the supported toolset.
  • Support monitoring and observability platforms such as AppDynamics, Grafana, Nagios, and OpenSearch, including dashboarding and alerting.
  • Manage source control and platform tooling such as GitHub and Rancher.
  • Ensure timely resolution of job failures, monitoring gaps, and platform performance issues across the supported toolset.
  • Support upgrades, migrations, and environment maintenance for owned platforms.

Skills and Experience

  • Bring strong scripting and automation ability, such as PowerShell, Shell scripting, or Python.
  • Apply hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, and integration or middleware platforms.
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) skills.
  • Work with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Demonstrate an operational ownership mindset and willingness to adopt AI-assisted tools for scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Apply the ability to learn and support multiple enterprise platforms beyond a single tool.
  • Manage ServiceNow administration and engineering, including workflow and catalog development, and business rules and script development.
  • Utilize experience with ServiceNow's Incident, Change, Problem, and Request Management modules, along with API integrations and automation.
  • Bring meaningful hands-on experience with at least one of the following: BMC Control-M for job scheduling, automation, workflow design, dependency management, and batch processing; AppDynamics, Grafana, Nagios, or OpenSearch for monitoring, observability, dashboarding, and alerting; GitHub for source control and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)-adjacent workflows; or Rancher for container and platform management. Broad expertise across all these tools is not required.
  • Demonstrate ServiceNow familiarity, which is an advantage for this track.
